I welcome all social media friends and future readers to my blog. As founding president of GiveCare, I am excited to share our story with you.  I have a passion for gender equity and holistic development of emerging communities in Africa.

Growing up in Nigeria, I am well acquainted with poverty in developing communities.     The opportunity to do graduate studies and live in the United States as well as my participation in study abroad programs in Europe provides me with insights on economic growth and income disparities in developing economies. When I was an undergraduate student of economics and statistics in Nigeria, I pondered on the production process. How labor/human resources being the principal factor of production, drive all other factors (land, capital and technology) to produce wealth. Yet only a few people are positioned on the other side of the equation to receive adequate dividends from the production process.

In many communities, the majority barely receive a living wage. Why is it skewed? How can the majority be positioned as active participators and recipients in and of the production process? Then again there is the issue of gender inequality, where the poverty gap is further delineated based on gender. Here, women are faced with social and cultural barriers that make them vulnerable to poverty.  Finding solutions to the inequitable distribution of wealth among people and communities has turned out to be one of my life goals.

I hope that this blog will provide a platform where we can share thoughts and find solutions to some of these challenges.

Thank You
