Good to hear women entrepreneurs tell their stories of triumphs and challenges especially how God anchors their business. I trust that if more women engage their trade as a vocation, a divine vision, their success stories would become both sustainable and generational. I believe that while men may be good at goals setting, the champions of the nitty gritty of business are the women. What that means is that entrepreneurship is best when the male-female dynamic is at play on a level playing ground that recognizes women as equal partners and possessing unique skills.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I think your point about recognizing the unique role and gifts of both gender is key to harnessing the fullness of all areas of human life, including the marketplace of trade and industry.
Does being a woman enhance or limit one’s opportunities as an entrepreneur?
I actually don’t believe women are advantaged or disadvantaged per se as entrepreneurs. Success in entrepreneurship isn’t peculiar to any particular gender. Anyone (male or female) can succeed if they are focused, determined (have unyielding faith), and totally depend on the grace of God. Women are typically more sentimental, intuitive, and relational while men are typically more decisive, logical, and competitive. There attributes alone do not guarantee success in any venture. What makes the difference is what an individual (man or woman) chooses to do with his/her God given talents.

It would be naïve to suggest that one may not encounter challenges while pursuing entrepreneurship, however with unyielding faith and total dependence on God, the challenges become opportunities to highlight that all things are possible with God.
It is critical to remember that diligence and persistence go a long way to produce excellent results. I wonder how much cultural barriers affect how women apply themselves as innovators and business owners?
Thanks for sharing. I do have some perspectives I would love to share as well.
Just to say I traveled to Montego Bay to help a friend facilitate an Entrepreneurship workshop with rural women. These are women with ideas, some have started businesses and others are fearful. In addition most of them come from a village that is plagued with violent crimes. The intervention is valuable and some are benefiting others are so frozen they need other help just to deal with their many issues.
As the Nigerian Doctor in the Video said, there are advantages and disadvantages to being a female entrepreneur. This seems to be a worldwide phenomena. I do know that women who manage to survive the tough 3 to 5 year survival threshold usually get much respect from their peers and male business owners too.
In my experience lots of persons express that their faith in God has been extremely important to the process of doing business successfully.
